Joseph Carmody from Reddam House Constantia achieved a national ranking within the top 5% in six or more subjects, placing him on the IEB Outstanding Achievement List.
The highlights of the Class of 2023 students at Reddam House schools in the Western Cape are:
- 120 students across the three schools received 308 distinctions, an average of 2.57 distinctions per student.
- Eight students from Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard, three students from Reddam House Durbanville and 28 from Reddam House Constantia achieved four or more distinctions.
- An average percentage of 72.39% across the three schools.
- 39 students across the three schools achieved four or more distinctions.
- One student achieved nine distinctions, two students received eight distinctions, one received seven distinctions and 13 received six distinctions.
- 94% bachelor pass rate and 100% pass rate across the three Cape schools.
Reddam House Constantia
A Reddam House Constantia student – Joseph Carmody – achieved nine distinctions. His highest mark was 99% for Maths.
Two Reddam House Constantia students achieved eight distinctions (Stilla O’Reilly and Donna Schmidt), one student received seven distinctions (Adam Allie) and a further 10 students received six distinctions (Ella Spinks, Tatiana Beyers, Liliana de Sousa, Karla Blom, Grant McLeroth, Rachel Wood, Sachin Eaves, Kate Everdij, Sacha Welch and Rebecca Pottas).
Reddam House Constantia achieved a 96% bachelor pass rate and 2.94 distinctions per student. Reddam House Constantia was the best-performing school in mathematics across the Inspired Education Group in South Africa.
Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard
Three students from Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard received six distinctions – Simran Adriaanse, Skye Metrowich and Ciara Doyle, and two achieved five distinctions.
Reddam House Durbanville
Reddam House Durbanville achieved an increased bachelor pass rate of 94%. Jaime Abegglen from Reddam House Durbanville received five distinctions.
National results
Nationally, Reddam House South Africa’s Class of 2022 achieved results beyond expectations across their eight schools located in three provinces (Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal), with a 100% pass rate in the IEB exams and 1,131 subject distinctions, averaging out at three distinctions per student. A total of 33% of all students achieved four or more distinctions.
IEB rankings
Reddam House students obtained a total 68 rankings in the top 1% of IEB candidates per subject nationally and 14 students received rankings on the IEB’s Outstanding and Commendable Achievement lists.
